Frequently Asked Quesions - FAQ

What is the Date?

LiT  runs in the second week of the July school holidays each year. In 2025 the date is Monday 7th July to Thursday 10th July 2025

Where is LiT held?

LiT will be held at the Belgrave Heights Camping and Conference Centre: 3 Convention Ave, Belgrave Heights.

What time does camp start and finish?

LiT check-in is at 10:00am on the first day of camp and finishes after lunch on the final day at approximately 2:00pm.

What happens on camp?

We meet new people and make new friends. We learn from the bible and dig really deep into one passage in small groups called the ‘teaching target’. We’ll learn about Christian leadership and other skills for ministry and be encouraged to get involved in running stuff on camp. We’ll be part of a small group to chat about the talks from the night before, and each evening, we’ll gather together to praise God in song and learn from the bible with some talks. Each afternoon there’s plenty of time to chill out, hang out and do some fun stuff together with activities and free time.

I've never been to LiT before. What Stage should I be in?

As this is the first year Belgrave is running LiT following on from local churches running LiT, here is a guide for what stage campers should register for:

Stage 1 tickets are for youth in Year 9 or 10 in 2025 AND have never been to LiT before.

Stage 2 tickets are for youth in Year 11 or 12 in 2025, OR who previously completed Stage 1.

Stage 3 tickets are only for youth who are in Year 11 or 12 and have attended 2 LiT camps previously.

This ensures campers make friends with peers from other churches and have the best learning environment. Please make sure you are familiar with the stages and make them clear to your youth before they register to avoid disappointment.

Can I jump straight into Stage 2 or 3 so I can be with my friends?

In short, No.

You will make new friends on camp and have time with friends from other stages during free time and The Gathering. We can organise to have leaders help you make connections at the start of camp if this is something you are nervous about.

It's important that you follow the instructions about what ticket to purchase when you register because otherwise it disadvantages the other campers who have come before.

-    If you are in Year 9 or 10 in 2025 and coming for the first time, then you must choose a Stage 1 ticket.

-    If you are in Year 11 or 12 in 2025 and coming for the first time, then you should purchase a Stage 2 ticket.

-    We don’t take any campers in Stage 3 who have not already done LiT Stage 2.

What happens if I have to cancel for any reason?

This information is available in our booking terms and conditions that are agreed to when tickets are purchased.

Will I get to spend any time with friends who are in other stages?

Yes! Free time each day and The Gathering each evening see all three stages come together, so if you have friends in other stages, you will be able to hang out with them then.

How does the accommodation work?

We allocate rooms according to gender for each stage, and then you get to pick your room groups from there. So if you are a boy and in Stage 1, you will be in a room with other boys from Stage 1.

There is some time to get to know other people from your stage before you choose your rooms, so even if you come to camp not knowing anyone you will have time to make new friends before you have to work out which room to go in.
